ajuda com garmin nuvi 40

Boa noite pessoal.
Estou abrindo este tópico pois não encontrei nenhum com o mesmo problema que estou passando.

Tenho um GPS Garmin nuvi40. Emprestei para um amigo meu que foi pra USA.
Depois de dois dias ele me liga falando que o GPS tinha travado na tela inicial com o simbolo da garmim e não sai mais desta tela.
Quando ele voltou, me devolveu o GPS e comecei uma saga pra tentar reviver o GPS.

Problemas:
- O GPS liga, mas fica somente na tela com o simbola da Garmin.
- Na tela inicial junto com o simbola da Garmin, normalmente ele carrega o soft do programa com mapa e tudo mais, agora não esta fazendo mais isso.
- Master-Reset, Hard-Reset ou Pre- Boot nenhum funciona.
- Pc nao reconhece mais o GPS.
Praticamente o GPS esta Morte.


A tela deveria estar assim quando ele eh iniciado. Ela fica apenas com o nome Garmim, sem copyright e os outros elementos.

Alguém Já passou por isso e conseguiu resolver este problema.

We've discovered a problem with the nuvi 30, 40, and 50 products that in some cases will prevent them from booting up successfully. A software fix has been released that will resolve this issue, please follow the steps below.

Things you'll need
A PC running Windows XP or newer (This process will not work on a Macintosh OS)
Your nuvi 30, 40, or 50 device
mini USB cable to connect your device to your computer
Access to your vehicle and power cable once you have completed the recovery process

Update your Software
Download and install the Garmin USB Drivers
Download the Recovery Application and corresponding recovery file for your device, and save them some place easily found, like your Desktop:

nuvi 40 and nuvi 50 Files:
Recovery Application
nuvi 40 and nuvi 50 recovery file
Drag and drop the .rgn file on top of the Updater.exe Recovery Application. The application will launch
If a runtime error is encountered, reference the article What should I do if I receive a runtime error while using the Updater.exe application?
With your device disconnected and turned off, use your thumb to apply pressure to the upper-left hand corner of the touchscreen
While still holding the touchscreen, connect the device to your computer using the mini USB cable
The Updater program will detect your device and will list the device in the "USB Device" drop-down menu
From the computer select the radio button next to "USB Device", Click OK, and let go of the touchscreen
Your nuvi will now go through the process of updating software. It may power off and on during this process. Once complete, your device may display the following message:
The software on the device is newer than the software you are attempting to install. Installing the older software will erase all user data. Install the older Software?
If this message appears, please select No
Disconnect your device from the computer and connect it to your vehicle power cable while plugged into a live power outlet in your vehicle

Onde estão disponíveis os arquivos de recuperação, conforme descrito em sua mensagem?
No próprio site da Garmin?

Estes arquivos nada mais são que o próprio firmware.
É só converter o gupdate.gcd da versão mais atual para RGN e usá-lo que deve resolver o problema.
As versões mais antigas tinham este bug e estavam sujeitas a acontecer este tipo de travamento.
Nas novas, já foi corrigido.

Esse forum nao disponibiliza alertas de radar, etc.. Procure no Maparadar ou, melhor ainda, no site g p s i n f o (sem espaços).
